It’s a pretty unpopular opinion but I absolutely cannot stand cake, or things that remind me of cake. That being said, this ultra fudgy brownie recipe is perfect for me. The brownies come out gooey, chocolatey, and pretty much perfect. So if you’re like me and never want to bake anything resembling cake then make these brownies and let me know what you think of them in the comments. P.S. They taste even better slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top.
Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup of all-purpose flour
- Pinch salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease the bottom and sides of a square baking pan, and then set aside while you are making the brownie mix.
In a medium-size saucepan, over very low heat, combine the stick of butter and chocolate (break up the chocolate into a couple of pieces when placing it into the saucepan). Stir occasionally until the butter and chocolate are nicely melted together. Once melted, remove the saucepan from the stove and place it on a hot pad.
Working quickly, so that the chocolate doesn’t start to cool, stir in the sugar and beat in the eggs, one at a time. Gently stir in the flour, salt, and vanilla. After combining all of the ingredients, pour and scrape the mixture into your greased baking pan and bake for 24 to 26 minutes or until you can pull a clean toothpick out of the center.
Cool on a rack for at least an hour and enjoy!
